Choquequirao Trek (new discovery) 5 days Code: A- 4C

USD$399 (Jan. Dec.)

The above prices include choquequirao entrance fee (US$30), bus from Cusco to Cachora village and all local sales taxes (19%). There are no hidden charges. For full details see below. Discounts: US$20 discount on the above prices to students with a valid International Student Identity Card (ISIC) and to children under the age of 15 years old (scans of your ISIC card or child's passport must be provided at the time of paying the trek deposit in order to qualify for the discount).

All reservations must be made well in advance (1 and 2 month is recommended especially during the months June, July and August). Earlier is better due to restrictions on the numbers of trekkers per camping.

What is included:

  • Collection from your hotel in the morning.
  • Transport to the start of Cachora village
  • Entrance fees (US$20)
  • English speaking professional guide (two guides for groups over 9 persons)
  • Igloo tents - 2 persons in each 4-person capacity tent with plenty of space for your backpacks
  • Double thickness foam mattress
  • Cook and Cooking equipment
  • Meals (03B,04L,03D) - food includes pancakes, omelets, soups, fresh fruit, avocado, pasta, chicken, fish, meat, rice, all rich in carbohydrates and uitable for trekking, hot drinks including coca leaf tea which is excellent for the altitude.
  • Teatime everyday (tea, coffee, biscuits, popcorn)
  • Porters and horses for equipment (to carry the tents, food, and cooking equipment)
  • Dining tent with camp tables and chairs
  • Kitchen tent
  • Accommodation for our muleter man and cooks
  • First aid kit including emergency oxygen bottle
  • Bus from Cachora to Cusco.

What is not included:

  • Breakfast on the first morning.
  • Entrance to the thermal springs in Conoc (optional) US$3.
  • Sleeping bags can be hired in our office for US$15 for the 5 day trek.
  • Tips for the guide, cook and others

What you need to bring/carry:

  • Backpack
  • Sleeping bag (can be hired from our office for US$3 per day)
  • Sleeping mattress (we will provide you with this)
  • Rain jacket or poncho (plastic ponchos can be purchased in Cusco for a few dollars)
  • Strong, comfortable footwear
  • One complete change of clothing (you can afford to carry more changes of clothing if you hire a personal porters, see options below)
  • Sweater and jacket (something warm)
  • Water bottle and purification tablets (Micropur are recommended and can be bought in local pharmacies in Cusco)
  • Flashlight and batteries
  • Hat or cap to protect you from the sun
  • Sun block (sun protection cream
  • Insect repellent
  • Toiletries, towel and toilet paper
  • Selection of small snacks, chocolate, dried fruit, biscuits etc,
  • Camera, plenty of film and spare batteries
  • Swimsuit (if you plan on visiting the hot springs at Conoc)

Options:

(1) Vegetarian Meals. We can provide vegetarian meals or cater for special diets with no extra cost. Just let us know at least 2 days prior to trek departure.

(2 Sleeping bag hire . If you haven't got a sleeping bag or you don't want the hassle of bringing one all the way to Peru with you then we have sleeping bags in our office for rent. The price is US$3 per person per day.

Payment details: We will require a non-refundable trek deposit of US$150 per person payable within four days of All Trek Tour Operator confirming your trek booking. Payment’s Click here


Further details of how to send the deposit are included with our trek booking confirmation email. The remaining balance is to be paid in our office at least two days prior to your trek departure date. Payment can be made in cash US$, local currency (Peruvian Soles), American Express Travel Checks (3%) or by VISA (6% surcharge - VISA's cost not ours).

Other information:

(1) Luggage storage. When you go on the trek it is best to leave any luggage that you are not going to need behind in Cusco. Nearly all the hotels in Cusco provide a secure luggage deposit. Put any valuables in their safe. Very rarely do hotels charge for this service especially if you are returning to the same hotel after the trek. If there are any problems with your hotel we can arrange to store your luggage at our office.

(2) Time of arrival in Cusco after returning from the trek. you will return to your hotel in Cusco for approximately 8:30pm on the 5th day of the trek.

Notes:

1. Your arrival date in Cusco must be at least 2 days prior to trek departure since you have to pay the trek balance before 8pm 2 days before you start the trek. Arriving 2 days prior to the trek also ensures that you are better acclimatized to the high altitude. However 3 days is recommended.

2. A free airport to hotel transfer is provided for groups of 2 persons or more. A single supplement of US$5 will be charged for single travelers. Obviously if you want an airport to hotel transfer we will require your flight arrival details: Airline, flight number, expected arrival time and date. (to be confirmed at least 5 days in advance).

4. If you have a hotel reservation in Cusco please include the name of your hotel on the reservation form. This allows us to locate you if there are any problems with your arrival. You will also be asked to confirm your hotel in Cusco when you come to the office to pay the trek balance.

We will confirm your trek reservation by email within a couple of days. We will require a trek deposit of US$150 per person paid in advance. The date by which the trek deposit has to be paid and details of how to pay the trek deposit will be included in the trek confirmation email.

Private service: Trek is organized just for you with private transport and your own personal guide. We don't add other people to your group. This enables us to provide the best service possible with personal attention and added comfort
